Myspace Latino and Remezcla present En Tu Ciudad Tour

En tu ciudad tour presenta - La Santa CeciliaNEW YORK (June 15, 2009)MySpace Latino and present the next installment of En Tu Ciudad Tour, a Latin indie concert series sponsored by Toyota Matrix, featuring eclectic local musical acts. Through 2009, the tour has had a great run with shows in Austin, Chicago and Miami.

This installment of En Tu Ciudad Tour, will take place on Wednesday, July 1st 2009 at the famed La Cita Bar in Los Angeles, with live performances by Very Be Careful, La Santa Cecilia, and Wait.Think.Fast. Hosting the night and providing the latest and best Spanish pop tunes will be the Mucho DJs with Resident DJsFrank Leopold, Noir, Pitxu, and Pajaro.

Headlining the Los Angeles edition of En Tu Ciudad are folk punkers Very Be Careful (VBC).  Already a fixture on the LA scene, VBC play a very traditional form of Colombian folkloric music called vallenato…in a very untraditional way. Unlike most second-generation groups, VBC has chosen to play a purist vision of their parents’ type of music, but aimed for young people: singing (in Spanish) about everyday stuff such as “love affairs, and local drama” and sweating it out at rock venues, small bars, underground pubs, boats…all around the country and the world. Always true to their DIY style and aesthetics, their last album, Salad Buey, confirms the band’s undeniable humor and irresistible beats. On July 1, VBC will be kicking off their July residency at Mucho Wednesdays at La Cita Bar.

La Santa Cecilia is a 6-piece band that formed a bit over two years ago. Unlike VBC, their approach is a contemporary cut-and-paste: they live to blend. Bolero, Cumbia, Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Norteno, Tango, and Bossa Nova are all part of the La Santa Cecilia sound. And onstage, just like VBV, the result is also fiery: unstoppable dancing ensues. Lead singer La Marisoul is a force to be reckoned with. With one self-released EP under their belt, and with their music featured on shows such as Weeds, La Santa Cecilia is on a rapid rise to gaining fans all around the country.

Wait.Think.Fast are known for their alternative rock, dream pop, and post-punk with a bilingual twist. Vuelve al Mar, the follow-up to their 2007 self-titled debut album, dropped last year and features the ambient and wistful “Cien Fuegos” and punk-inspired immigration anthem “Clear Our Name.” Based in Echo Park, where they had a very popular residency at established club The Echo, WTF have shared the stage with artists such as Ximena Sarinana .

When you talk about a Latin alternative party in LA, Mucho Wednesdays is it. What started as a group of friends sharing their love for classic Latin beats with new, emanating sounds from local, national and international Latin artists, has turned into a weekly party sensation in the heart of Los Angeles’ Downtown district. The Mucho Resident DJs Frank Leopold, Noir, Pitxu, and Pajaro, have established a loyal following of Mucho aficionados, introducing new audiences to Spanish pop music, as well as creating an important and vital platform for local bands and visiting artists to showcase their music en español. At this installment of the En Tu Ciudad Tour, Mucho Wednesdays will not only be providing the beats in between and after the performances, but will also be celebrating their 2 Year Anniversary!

The En Tu Ciudad Tour kicked off in Austin with Girl In A Coma, Piñata protest, Este Vato and Peligrosa All Stars. The Chicago En Tu Ciudad show featured Making Movies, Los Vicios de Papa, Saber and DJ Chavez. In Miami, Suenalo, Minimal and Radioboxer shared the stage, with beats by Eddy Morillo (Bachaco.).

En Tu Ciudad Tour: Los Angeles will take place on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at La Cita on 336 S Hill St, Downtown LA.

Doors open at 8pm, the show is 21 and over.
